What are disbursements?
Disbursements are costs incurred by lawyers for any services required in connection with a legal matter other than their own professional fees. In some instances, a lawyer may agree to cover the cost of their disbursements conditionally depending on a certain outcome.
Depending on your matter disbursements may include:
- court filing and hearing fees
- barristers’ fees
- expert reports
- testimonies.
